Musician and guitar player from Bogotá, Colombia.
He has studied music since childhood but it was until adolescence that the guitar came into his life. His history with the acoustic guitar began with a Brazilian teacher playing Bossa Nova standards.
Later he went to a music academy where he studied classical guitar and in this process, he got his first electric and started playing rock and metal as well.
Since then he hasn’t stopped playing them both. In the university, for his Bachelor of Music degree, he went for classical guitar studies, with a special interest in contemporary music, doing a monography about techniques, interpretation and non-traditional notation based in five works by the Cuban composer Leo Brouwer.
During these university years, he formed a jazz band and played with the faculty Estudiantina: a traditional plucked strings orchestra- playing Colombian Andean Music, that later became the Ensamble Instrumental La Cofradía, group that made several live shows in Bogotá and other cities, won some awards, got featured in various live recordings and made a studio CD.
In recent years as a rock guitarist he has played in the most important music festivals of Colombia like the Festival Rock al Parque, Altavoz Fest and Festival Estereo Picnic.
Currently he is the guitar player of the bands Tan Tan Morgan and MModcats. He also works as a teacher, as a composer of music for audiovisual projects and now here for you in Guitar Elite.
