Frequently Asked Questions
You can find all the important questions and answers here
|Q. Does Guitar-Elite work on all devices?
|A. Guitar-Elite is 100% Responsive and work on any standard devices (Windows, Mac, IOS, Android, Tablet, Phone, Computer etc…)
|Q. Is it really better to learn on Guitar-Elite than with a teacher in my country?
|A. We created this online school because we here at Guitar-Elite have experienced taking lessons with 1-on-1 teachers. Here is a list of the obstacles we encountered:
- Expensive services over a long period of time.
- The teachers determine their schedules and the lesson for the next class. Highly inconvenient for students who want to learn at their own time and preference.
- Sometimes the assignments that teachers give out are not enough or are lacking. Backing tracks are not freely given.
- It is highly inconvenient for the student to travel, especially for students with busy schedules.
- Questions about the lesson are left to be answered on the next class day.
|Q. The website looks cool! What equipment do I need to use your service?
|A. You only need an internet connection (at least 5 MBPS) since we have all the tools you need! Use whatever gear you want – your guitar, your amplifier, anything around your home! If you want to play guitar fully naked, feel free to do so as well!
The only thing we recommend is to have a correct internet bandwith. (+5 Download Mbps)
|Q. Can I download the lessons on my computer?
|A. Unfortunately, we do not allow downloads since we want to avoid copyright infringement. Our work is made by our teachers themselves, and like our students, we only want the best for our teachers as well. Our fees allow us to continue with our services and will also provide us with the resources to keep giving our customers and students all the best we can!
On the bright side, feel free to download our backing tracks, jam tracks, and other free lessons!
|Q. Are there going to be new lessons?
|A. As long as there is something to discuss about the guitar, we will never stop making lessons! Learning is a lifelong activity, so rest assured, you’ll always learn something new!
New lessons will be available either every week or every month depending on our teachers’ availability. Don’t worry – we’ll keep it updated as much as we can!
|Q. I like Bossa Nova, Blues, Jazz, Metal, Rock, Fusion… Can I find lessons about these genres/styles on Guitar-Elite?
|A. We do our best to cover all music genres and styles as much as possible. One of our main goals is to show you the basic skillset and techniques to give you the freedom to play any genre or style you wish.
We already have a lot of lessons covering the genres above, so feel free to check out our Lessons page – even if you don’t have a membership yet!
|Q. How do you go about teaching your lessons? Is it just a plain video and backing track?
|A. Not only do we have video lessons and backing tracks, but we have unique learning tools that allow you to speed up the lesson or slow it down, and tools to help you learn note reading and tab reading too!
Here at Guitar-Elite, you also have the opportunity to join our guitar community where you can share your experiences, learn with others, and teach newcomers as well! We also have fun contests where you get to show off your skills and get chances to win goodies such as guitars, amplifiers, and other gear!
To learn more about our video lessons, check out the “Video Lessons” category on the left side of the FAQ page.
|Q. How do I create an account?
|A. To create a free account, click on the “Sign-In” link on the top-right corner of the website:
|Q. If I pay for the Membership Access, can I cancel it anytime I want?
|A. Initially, you will have a 14-day free trial to test out our learning platform. If you stop before the end of this period, you won’t have to pay for anything.
After the 14-day trial, you can end your Membership any time you want. Memberships will only stop at the end of the month so you will still need to pay for the current month.
|Q. I already have a membership, so what can I do?
|A. If you already have a membership, you have access to all our our content, including:
- All lessons
- All backing tracks
- Ask questions directly to your teachers
- Use all our learning tools
- Be part of our exclusive Guitar-Elite community
- Participate in our lottery, contests, and other fun stuff!
You can find all these things in the Menu at the top:
If you checked the menu before your membership, you wouldn’t find any of the items listed above. Now that you have the membership, you should be able to see them all!
|Q. Is your service more than just a video lesson?
|A. What we offer is more than just a video lesson – Our lessons are embedded in a special learning platform where there are many tools to help you learn at your own preference!
Together with the video, there are music sheets and tablatures that play in sync! Learn how to read notes and tablature at your own time and pace! Are you a left-hand player? Feel free to mirror the video with the built-in tool!
Our platform also allows you to loop specific measures that are difficult. We have options for you to slow down or speed up the tempo, too! Need a metronome? We have that as well!
And many more possibilities…
|Q. Matthew asks, “I’ve got a membership and it’s very cool! But there are too many tools – do you have a tutorial on how to use the platform?”
|A. Sure we do! See the video below to help you use our learning platform:
|Q. I have a problem with videos… The video stops while I watch and resume few seconds or minutes later… Why?
|A. This problem only occurs if you have a bandwidth lower than 5 MBPS.
To check your internet bandwith, you can go on this website: http://www.speedtest.net
Then, click on the “Go” button and the website will check your internet bandwidth. Our recommendation is to have 5 MBPS or more to use our services efficiently.
If you have no option to increase your bandwidth, you can pause the video and wait for the video to fully load up before starting it.
Having many devices connected to your WiFi will also cause you to have a lower bandwidth. Make sure that other devices are turned disconnected from your internet before using our services.
|Q. When I watch my lesson, I only see the notation. The video is not displayed, why?
|A. This problem appear when you use an old web-browser. Please use a browser like Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla FireFox, Opera…
